  • Final Send Off For Bisbee High School Class of 2025

    On Thursday, May 22, the Bisbee High School Class of 2025 gathered to celebrate a milestone year in the making — their graduation. But this class stood apart from others. They were shaped by a time of global uncertainty, having started their high school journey during the COVID-19 pandemic, when classrooms went dark and the world shifted to online learning. What began in isolation ended in unity, as these resilient students crossed the stage surrounded by cheers, applause, and the proud eyes of loved ones.

    The ceremony began with honor and patriotism as the Customs and Border Protection Tucson Field Office Honor Guard presented the colors. Principal Mr. Watts followed with a heartfelt rendition of the national anthem, setting the tone for a night filled with emotion and celebration.

    Student Body President and Valedictorian Isabella Solis took the stage first, welcoming families, friends, and fellow graduates. Her speech was filled with warmth and encouragement, honoring the hard work it took to reach this day……read full story (online subscribers only)

  • Bikeways Assurance Letter Causes Discord

    An assurance letter offered by the city to allow Bisbee Bikeways to submit grant applications for funding on behalf of the city caused some discord between council and Bisbee Bikeways founder and president Meggen Connolley.

    The agenda item, up for approval at the May 20 city council meeting included, the assurance letter that had been previously discussed at a work session and a $20,000 contribution from the city towards the west end project.

    The purpose of the assurance letter is to assist Bisbee Bikeways to pursue grant funding for the west segment of the Lavender Pit Path from the Queen Mine Tour and under into Old Bisbee. Bisbee Bikeways needs to raise $133,183 by April 2026 in order for construction to begin……read full story (online subscribers only)
