The Cultural Layers Project, backed by One Columbia and the Knight Foundation, spotlights African American history through murals, photography and video by three local artists.

The exhibit, "Rural Witnesses," examines how rural, abandoned and historical structures in the South can be reimagined for modern use, while also preserving their connection to the past. 

Nikki Anderson will take on the role of a swashbuckling pirate captain in the Gilbert and Sullivan English-language opera.
