On Monday, Peggy Dyson, of the
Educational Center for the Visually Impaired snipped
the ribbon on the first new program to come to
Lincoln. The ECVI has operated in Springfield for
several years and is also in Decatur. Now it comes
to Lincoln offering programs at the Oasis Senior
Center.

Last Thursday, May 15, the National Weather
Service reports that scattered severe thunderstorms
developed in northern and central Illinois during
the late afternoon and tracked northeastward across
the area through mid-evening, producing swaths of
damaging winds and hail.
Logan County found itself in the path of the storms
and would indeed see some hail. The photo above
shows a range of sizes that fell locally.
