We lost our sweet dog, Dixie, last Spring. As you noted here, we were fully aware of the time ticking away…her health had started deteriorating 2 years prior. That dreaded day came on Tuesday, April 23rd, last year. It was, and will remain the saddest day of my life. Somehow I knew as we entered the vet’s office downtown, she already realized what was coming. We had her from the time she was 2 months old…a rescue from the local pound in 2008. She was a birthday gift for our son, who turned 11 that year. Two days prior to her crossing the rainbow bridge, our son had moved out and got his own home to live in. Pure coincidence, yet the empty noise and changed routine that followed was like a punch in the face. We are currently feeding and taking care of 3 feral cats…all have been fixed. They somehow have filled a void in our life. Just not the same as having a dog, but these cats give us absolute joy. We will adopt another rescue, but that is a few years off. When the hubby retires, then that will definitely become reality. In their short lives, our pets give us all they can. Friendship, unselfish love, and total loyalty. Yes, grief, is the final act of love. Their paw prints stay in our hearts forever.
Yes, when I go in any government building I expect to go through a metal detector. I am therefore careful what to have on my person. It is a the way to keep schools safe!
No!
Lara, because you are the only no so far, could you give us some details that the reason you disagree?
