FOUR ARRESTED IN CARJACKING: Four juveniles were arrested late Friday following a carjacking and chase that began in Pittsburg and ended near Antioch, police said.

The incident began about 8 p.m. when a group of juveniles, two armed with handguns, approached a Lincoln Navigator that was parked in front of a house on Hermosa Avenue near Pueblo Avenue, said Pittsburg police Sgt. Bruce Brown.

“The people were ordered out of the car at gunpoint,” Brown said.

The carjackers then fled north on Hermosa. Pittsburg police issued a countywide bulletin to other agencies. Antioch police ed the pursuit and managed to pull the vehicle over near Hudson Court, across from Somersville Town Centre in Antioch, Brown said.

The juveniles were subdued when they attempted to flee on foot, Antioch police Lt. Robin Kelley said.

Witnesses reported seeing more than a dozen police vehicles near the scene of the arrests.

The identities of the suspects were not released. Brown said the suspects did not know the victims of the carjacking.

The suspects were taken to the Pittsburg police station, where they were to be transported to Juvenile Hall, Brown said. Police recovered one firearm from the scene.
