NCHS graduation celebrates the class of 2025 x1k6g

LUSK – Niobrara County High School (NCHS) seniors were celebrated during the NCHS graduation on May 19. The graduates were given praises and honors for their hard work and celebrating together as they look towards the future. Salutatorians were Haven Hendricks and Gracie ZumBrunnen. The honor of valedictorian was Tessa Manning.

NIOBRARA COUNTY – The Niobrara County Commissioners met on May 20.  The commissioners heard updates about the Community Juvenile Service Board (CJSB). County attorney Annie Wasserburger and Clerk of District Court and CJSB board chairwoman Chrisanna Lund updated the commissioners about the WYO HELP contract.

LUSK – On May 13, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon took time out of his busy schedule to visit with the faculty, parents and students of Niobrara County School District #1 (NCSD #1). This was Governor Gordon’s first visit to NCSD #1. Niobrara County High School (NCHS) school counselor Michelle Ogburn made arrangements for the visit through Governor Gordon’s office.

LUSK: The Niobrara County School District Hall of Fame selection committee has been meeting regularly, and after potential applicants were reviewed, has released this year’s group of inductees. Among the applications received- William “Al” Taylor, Steve Baribeau, Mark Lohr, Randy Corley and Ron Nelson were voted into the third NCSD Hall of Fame class. Tigers Secure 5 SEWAC All Conference Nods 4w5x4t

LUSK - For the second weekend in a row, Lusk hosted a track meet at NCHS.  Five high school teams and seven middle school teams converged on Lusk to compete in the SEWAC track meet.

Tiger golf teams finish their spring season
LUSK - The Tiger Boys and Girls Golf Teams finished up their 2025 Spring Season with the Championships in Wright on May 9-10.  The Tigers were greeted with a well-conditioned course and beautiful weather for the championship.  The first day saw very little wind and the competitors took advantage of the perfect conditions.  Hudson Leimser shot a career best 75 (39-36) to tie for 4th place after the first 18 holes.

Spring Gold interrupted by mother nature
The Tiger Golf Teams have had a sporadic Spring Golf Season thus far.  Two of the first three tournaments of the season were cancelled due to weather and combined with a multitude of school activities the Tiger Team has participated in just three events so far.

GILLETTE, WYOMING - Over the course of the 2024-2025 gymnastics season the Rawhide Gymnastics rookie competition team qualified all eight athletes to the state meet. Athletes headed to compete on Saturday, March 15 and were among over 350 gymnasts that convened at the Campbell County Recreation Center over the two day competition.
